Today the Vaughn Occupational High School for special needs students held their
annual fall festival craft show, and I was there. What an absolutely beautiful Fall day,
party cloudy, breezy with possible chance of rain? (And rain it did!) Anyway, what a
wonder way to end the month of September? Much thanks to the students that were
very helpful in assisting me with unloading my car this morning. I would also like to
say thanks to my new craft making and entrepreneurial friends, Jo Ann, Laura, and
Tina, for the valuable business information regarding upcoming shows and some how
to 's. Hope to see you guys soon.

10th Annual Portage Park- Arts in the Park
This event was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, an Catholic mens fraternal
benefit society that assist sick, disable and needy families. This two day event was
held in Portage Park, near Irving Park Rd & Central Ave. Great attendance for both
days. The weather was kind to us, absolutely gorgeous September weather. It actually
was near the 80's on Saturday, and we got rain around 4 pm on Sunday, but for the
most part it was a great show with beautiful scenery, and friendly people. I
recommend this park for morning walks, an absolutely peaceful park. I also met a
wonderful vendor, by the name of Carol Genovese, she sells beautiful hand crafted
hand bags, aprons, dog collars and pet bedding. In her spare time, Carol also is a
member of the R.E.G.A.P Group (Retired Greyhounds as pets). Carol has two
greyhounds that she has rescued. For information about rescuing a greyhound or
adoption please contact the REGAP of Illinois at 815/538/Dogs. Ask for Mona.
Thanks Carol for the good conversation and wonderful business ideas. Looking
forward to doing this show next year!

Arts & Craft Show was held on July 21, 2006, sponsored by the AT&T ACT Team
Members. Thanks to Everla Gardener, whose combined entrepreneurial spirit,
creativity and effort made this day such a success. And special thanks, to Marissa,
and Jackie for volunteering their time, you guys are the greatest, couldn't have done
this show without you!
